<g:description>CARTESIAN STAND
by BETA ANGEL
11 x 15 cm, 14 pages
Digitally printed, stapled
Published by LiDO (Nicolàs Meza and Tommaso Olivero)
Illustrations by Nicolàs Meza

CARTESIAN STAND is about the unbalanced relationship with memories, the shaping force of technology, and the interconnectedness of contemporary society. The poems in this pamphlet sit between visions of a distant future, and the painful memories of battles—mourning lost friends, and reflecting on an opaque enemy.

<i>The word "prohibition"
may once have been a curse.
The word may once have been culture,
and since then a plural cell.
It is now a parasitic organism.
It is here in the system.</i>

by Anna Tokareva
13.5 x 6.5 cm
Laser-printed concertina folded publication, iPhone SE cover, acetone “screen” cover, hand-made beaded phone charm.
Edition of 15
2024

VULNERABILITY HANGOVER explores the navigation of adult friendship spanning oceans, mediated by digital tools. It was written in a series of fragments via the iPhone Notes app. The author started with a title related to friendship, then selected one of three words suggested by predictive text, building up a short paragraph word by word.

The final short fiction recalls drunken messages left on read at 3am; self-consciously long voice notes; confessions made under the guise of intoxication. It’s also a nod to recent developments in AI generated text, while using its sub-par predecessor, predictive text — another layer of awkward blunder in emotional communication.

Published by LiDO (Nicolás Meza and Tommaso Olivero).

LES MOTS is the outcome of a participatory exhibition and event centred on collective text creation. Visitors were invited to engage with a “puddle” of words, shaping their own expressions by arranging them freely across white walls.

Over the course of a single evening, more than fifty compositions emerged—ranging from the evocative to the surreal, the humorous to the obscure. Language became a truly tangible and shared material, continuously reinterpreted and reassembled in a living process of meaning-making. The edition is a snapshot of spontaneous creativity, collective authorship, and the relational potential of words when released from individual control.

With contributions by Laura Carniel, Louise Carpenedo, Melissa Eis Dominguez, Alonso Esquinca, Kelly Frank, Nicolás Meza, Lydia Gray, Lydie Greco, Coline L'Achiver, Laura Lang, Fionn O'Sullivan, Tommaso Olivero, Anastasia Pineschi, Sophia Poole, Orlando Reade, Annie Severs, Diana Siegel Fernández, Caterina Violetta Simonini, Holly Telfer, Tho Thai, Anna Tokareva, Andrea Villalón.

The exhibition/event was held on 15th August 2024 at Lot Projects, London. </g:description>

These cities have become exhausting places, telling tales of progress, future, innovation, speed individualism and disenchantment.

This surprise bag contains nostalgic stories and poems of relationships, connection, solitude, heritage and lost pleasures. This is a zine for and by the awkward flâneurs, the melancholic misfits, the chatty poets and brooding makers. May they remind us of a world worth longing for.

RADICAL NOSTALGIA is a collaborative zine project by designer, writer and researcher Valeska Noemi and editor and letterpress printmaker Tommaso Olivero (ossa prints). It contains fifteen hand-crafted and carefully edited pieces by thirteen contributors. Each individually designed and brought to life with mixed materials and techniques that celebrate collaboration and craft.

With contributions by: David Armes, Laura Carniel, Chelsea Collison, Jane Hartshorn, Liz Kendall, Stéphane Lambion, Rona Luo, Salomé Mercier, Nicolás Meza, Hattie Morrison, Valeska Noemi, Anna Tokareva, Harper Walton.</g:description>

ON SIMMERING drifts between found poetry, wacky essay, and visual note. It is a reflection on the fragile and balancing state of simmering. Here it is placed in relation to care, time, and noise, and in close dialogue with the concept of gradient.

Cooking is pretty much absent, yet one can argue that the starting point exists and is unknown, like in many other circumstances. </g:description>

by Tallulah Howarth

Letterpress printed from polymer plates, with hand-set covers
Edition of 200 plus proofs

AN ALTERNATIVE XANADU is a poetic sequence documenting the chaotic, shifting organism of a shared house and its inhabitants. Xanadu Housing Co-operative was founded in Leeds in 2004; in their first pamphlet, Tallulah Howarth takes the reader inside the house, moving from room to room—pointing to what has been passed on, what is new, and what has not yet sedimented (and never has, or never will).

The square footage of each room determines the word count of the corresponding poem. The result is a series of images of daily life, familiar and unique, as the boundaries between setting and foreground shift back and forth, and echoes and marginalia emerge across the page. An accompanying floor plan helps the reader avoid getting lost.</g:description>
